Engineers Australia and the Australian Council of Professions are excited to announce that we will be hosting what is expected to be a very informative roundtable event on Thursday 23rd May (9:00 am – 12:00 pm) on the Impact of the 2024 Federal Budget response to the Universities Accord. The event will be face to face at the Engineers Australia offices in Canberra, with an online option also available.
The event promises insightful discussions on the implications of the 2024 Federal Budget on the recently released Universities Accord with an objective to prioritise and build alliances for advocacy in relation to the budget and Universities Accord. If the topics included in the agenda are not in the budget the discussion will focus on establishing a strategy for further collaborative advocacy.

Universities Accord
On 25 February 2024, the Hon Jason Clare MP, Minister for Education, released the Australian Universities Accord Final Report.
The Australian Universities Accord Final Report contains 47 recommendations for Government consideration and aims to create a long-term reform plan for the higher education sector to meet Australia’s future skills needs.
This Summary Report was prepared by the Department of Education and outlines themes and issues identified in the Accord Final Report.
